The Story So Far

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

Dropped out of college to work more hours (and not drop dead) at my job.

No video or audio update.  I moved into a sweet little townhouse and just haven’t got the opportunity to move audio or video equipment yet.  I may start podcasting from my Macbook Pro.  Not sure yet.  If you’re interested in a video podcast, let me know.

Geek Wedding: Little more than 9 months to go till I marry the most wonderful geek in the world.  Follow me on twitter (twitter.com/doyleclark) and receive my weekly (and in some cases daily) wedding tweets.  The web will know every little decision we make about the ceremony and reception.  <note: I will not be viewing her wedding dress until she walks down that isle>  If you would be interested in me streaming the ceremony and maybe reception, let your opinion on it be known.  It’s something I’ve considered but haven’t talked to her about yet.

Some site revisions coming soon.  Along with new merchandise at cafepress.com/doyleclark and zazzle.com/doylerclark

New equipment and old hobby’s revisited

Monday, April 6th, 2009

I feel the need to explain the recent lack of The DBOI Afterthoughts Podcast.  I acquired a very cheap microphone cable which has since reminded me of an old adage: you get what you pay for.  I have some new cable coming soon, if not tomorrow.  It’s of almost the highest quality available.  That’s right, Monster Cable.  I’ve tried the stuff out and it really is better than the best when it comes to analog pro-aduio.  As soon as it arrives I’ll patch it in and start recording my latest thoughts of everything.  Never found my pop-filter, so I bought a windscreen for the microphone.  That should help out with some of the spolives I’ve been noticing.

Guitar.  It’s so cool to play guitar.  I’ve got a collection of 3 and a half guitars right now and haven’t been playing any of them.  Well, the last few days I’ve been revisiting that old hobby quite a bit.  Purchased a few accessories I needed, ordered a new Amp.  (Even borrowed younger brother’s Amp, until mine comes in.)  It’s been very rewarding playing the last few days.

In other news, I recently watched Race to Witch Mountain and Fast and the Furious.  Reviews will be posted this week for both.  Still working on the lost Alpha Episdoe of GeekCult.TV for you guys.  If it doesn’t get finished by the end of this week, it should be finished shortly after the weekend.  So be looking for a new DBOI Afterthoughts in the next 2 days, a couple movie reviews, and that darn lost episode.

It’s monday and this is what i’m tuned into.

Zombie Apocalypse sooner than expected…

Monday, March 16th, 2009

Could it really be as simple as some janky cosmetic company producing some skin regenerative creme’ so that women in their 40′s and 50′s can try to bag guys in their 20′s?  Yeah yeah, sounds like the sub plot of Resident Evil’s Umbrella Corporation.  Just check this out:

Avon's Facial Serum

And now the T-virus (sci-fi horror virus that turns things into zombies):

Some scary similarities here. I’ve got my partner in case of Z-day… what about you?
