New equipment and old hobby’s revisited
I feel the need to explain the recent lack of The DBOI Afterthoughts Podcast. I acquired a very cheap microphone cable which has since reminded me of an old adage: you get what you pay for. I have some new cable coming soon, if not tomorrow. It’s of almost the highest quality available. That’s right, Monster Cable. I’ve tried the stuff out and it really is better than the best when it comes to analog pro-aduio. As soon as it arrives I’ll patch it in and start recording my latest thoughts of everything. Never found my pop-filter, so I bought a windscreen for the microphone. That should help out with some of the spolives I’ve been noticing.
Guitar. It’s so cool to play guitar. I’ve got a collection of 3 and a half guitars right now and haven’t been playing any of them. Well, the last few days I’ve been revisiting that old hobby quite a bit. Purchased a few accessories I needed, ordered a new Amp. (Even borrowed younger brother’s Amp, until mine comes in.) It’s been very rewarding playing the last few days.
In other news, I recently watched Race to Witch Mountain and Fast and the Furious. Reviews will be posted this week for both. Still working on the lost Alpha Episdoe of GeekCult.TV for you guys. If it doesn’t get finished by the end of this week, it should be finished shortly after the weekend. So be looking for a new DBOI Afterthoughts in the next 2 days, a couple movie reviews, and that darn lost episode.

Well, just the term whiskey when referenced to Single Malt Whiskey means a blended whiskey using different grains and Single Malt Whiskey’s with other Grain Spirits. A Single Malt Whiskey is all one grain and from the same batch. They are usually marked with a year of age. (ie 5 year or 10 year) This denotes how long the Whiskey was aged in the barrels. Scotch Whiskey is a different story altogether. Scotch must be completely prepared (and aged at least 3 years) in Scotland. There are other factors which affect taste as well. I would suggest reading the wikipedia page on scotch. Scotch is generally NOT mixed with other Grain Spirits. This is what gives it it’s individual taste. Maybe this helped you understand why Jack Daniel’s, Bushmill’s, and Cutty Sark all taste so very different.
Thanks for the question,
-D
